Our History

Our History

Our History

Randolph Heritage was formed in 1994 to preserve the landmarks of Franklinville, North Carolina, one of the earliest cotton mill villages in the South.

Since 2016 we have been entrusted with the American Textile History Museum's nationally significant collection of American textile machinery.

We also own the future site  site of the NC Textile Museum just a mile upriver.

Our Mission

Our History

Our Mission

We seek to preserve the remains of American industrial history in all its forms. From the 1790s to the 1970s the textile  industry was an economic powerhouse providing jobs and teaching skills to American workers. In the 21st century, its memories fade every day.

We are committed to maintaining its lessons for future generations.

Help Us Save North Carolina's Textile History!

Your support and contributions will enable us to create the North Carolina Textile Museum, renovate historic buildings and restore unique artifacts that preserve the heritage of Southern textile mill villages..
